Lyric Scroll

Lyrics that follow your voice

Lyric Scroll puts your lyrics and chords on the iPhone screen and scrolls them as you sing. It listens with the phone's own speech recognition, finds where you are in the song, and keeps the current line in view. No foot pedal, no set tempo, no one turning pages.

What it does

Listens and follows

Tap Listen and sing. The words you sing are matched against the song, and the screen scrolls to keep up. Repeat a line, skip a verse or pause, and it finds you again.

Songs with parts and a flow

Each song is made of parts, such as Verse 1 and Chorus, with a flow you set: verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus. Repeats are written once.

Chords over words

Put a chord in square brackets right before a word, like [G]morning, and it sits above that word on stage. Chords and titles are never mistaken for lyrics.

Sets for every occasion

Keep more than one named set, each in its own order. At the end of a song the next one can come up on its own and wait for its first word.

Notes and revisions

Attach a note to any part, such as a key change or a cue. Earlier versions of a song are kept so a late edit is never a loss.

Made for the stage

A black screen with large, adjustable text, line and verse spacing you choose, and a screen that stays awake. Share sets with another iPhone over AirDrop.

Where it runs

iPhone
iOS 26 or later. The speech recognition it uses is part of iOS and runs on the phone itself.

Your words stay on your phone

Lyric Scroll works without an account and without an internet connection. The microphone is used only while you have tapped Listen, and what it hears is turned into text on the phone and compared with your lyrics there. Nothing you sing, and none of your lyrics, is sent to Squirrel Watch or to anyone else. The Lyric Scroll privacy policy says this in full.

Status

Lyric Scroll is being readied for release. This page will say when and how it becomes available.
