Lyric Scroll privacy policy

What the app stores, and where

• Your songs and sets. Lyrics, chords, parts, flows, notes and earlier revisions are saved in the app's own folder on your phone. You can see them in the Files app. They are included in your normal iPhone backup, as any app's files are.
• Your display settings. Text size, spacing, colours and similar choices are saved on the phone.

Squirrel Watch has no copy of any of this and cannot see it.

The microphone and speech recognition

• The app asks for microphone and speech-recognition permission the first time you tap Listen. You can change either at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
• The microphone is used only while listening is on. Audio is turned into text by the speech recognition that is part of iOS, on the phone itself, and the text is compared with your lyrics on the phone. The app asks iOS for on-device recognition only.
• No audio is recorded or kept. No audio or recognised text is sent to Squirrel Watch or to any other party. The first time a language is used, iOS may fetch Apple's own on-device language files; that is Apple's service and is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Sharing over AirDrop

You can send a set or a song to another iPhone over AirDrop as a file. That happens only when you choose to share, goes directly between the two phones through Apple's AirDrop, and is not seen by Squirrel Watch.

What the app does not do

• No account, sign-in or e-mail address is needed or asked for.
• No analytics, usage tracking, crash reporting service or advertising is built in.
• No data is sold, shared or sent to anyone. There is nothing to sell.
• The app makes no network requests of its own.

Children

Lyric Scroll is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new "Last updated" date.
